The Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) today warned the FC Goa that they would not be allowed to play next Indian Super League match at the Fatorda-based Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium scheduled on November 11 if they fail to pay the dues of Rs 1.67 crore.
"FC Goa which is hosting home matches for ISL has to pay Rs 1.67 crore as a fee for usage of Fatorda stadium. We have already communicated to them that the next match would not be allowed, if they don't pay the dues," SAG Executive Director V M Prabhudesai told PTI today.
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in South Goa is a property of SAG.
Prabhudesai said the fees that's due to be paid is of the matches played during current ISL season.
"The fees of the past ISL season has been cleared," he said.
"The fees for usage of the stadium has to be cleared on time without any delay," said the Executive Director.
In recent past, South District Police had raised the bill of Rs 3.80 crore which was due to be paid by FC Goa.
Goa police had even refused to provide security for the first ISL match held on October 8.
The security was provided after the intervention of Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
Despite repeated attempts, FC Goa could not be reached for comments.
