Isolux Corsan wins 113 mn euros contract from NHAI

Spanish firm Isolux Corsan today said it has won a contract from NHAI for widening of a highway stretch between Haridwar and Nagina in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand at a cost of 113 million euros.
"Isolux Corsan strengthens its presence in India with a new contract: the improvement and extension of two to four lanes in the 72 km of Highway NH-74 running between Haridwar and Nagina, in the states of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh as well as track maintenance for 4 years," the company said in a statement.
The project, awarded by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), has a budget of 113 million euros (about Rs 860 crore) and an execution period of 30 months.

"This work also involves the construction of 12 primary and 12 secondary bridges, a high bypass in Njibabad, a bridge over the train tracks and two steps to elephants. All these structures have a total length of 4.3 kilometers and because of its complexity, stands a bridge of 37 spans in 1.2 km and two unique steel structure," the statement said.
It said the project also includes the construction of five bypasses with a total length of 16 km, and the creation of service roads, parking of heavy vehicles, sleeping and toll plaza.
Isolux Corsan has a large presence in India, which has recently been awarded the expansion and rehabilitation of a stretch of 48 km of the NH-75 Highway in Karnataka amounting to 80 million euros.

In addition, the company is running the extension and improvement of 400 km corresponding to 4 sections of highways in Assam, Rajasthan, Odisha and Karnataka for a total amount of 350 million euros.
