Choreographer Ashley Lobo says his upcoming reality show 'India's Dancing Superstar' will focus on creating artistes out of common people.
Lobo has teamed up with Geeta Kapoor as a judge for the Star Plus show, which is unique for its "no-age bar" approach and will provide a platform for dancers across ages belonging to any dance genres or form.
The only selection criteria is "passion for dance", says Lobo, who is making his TV debut with the show.
"I think it is the right time for me to start my stint on TV. I don't think it will be difficult at all rather it would be really interesting. To me, the whole idea of the show is more about dancer than the dance. It's about the spirit of the dancer it's about the heart of the dancer and the artistic nature of the dancer," he said.
The dancer, who is trained in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Funk and Contemporary styles, hopes that TV will be a learning experience.
"There is always going to be a little nervous energy for me as TV is a new medium for me."
There are many dance reality shows on small screen but Lobo thinks "India's Dancing Superstars" is different.
"This show is about who you are, If you have developed your own dance; it is incredible to watch and is entertaining, you have got my heart and are my winner. I agreed to do this show because it is about innocence, opportunity and about anybody."
Bollywood Choreographer Kapoor is a known face on TV and has judged three seasons of "Dance India Dance" and 2 Seasons "DID Lil Masters". Lobo hopes that Kapoor's presence will help him get through the new medium.
"It will be a lot of learning and a lot of fun. She has been doing TV for a long time. She has also done a lot of Bollywood, that style of dance is not mine. I am an international dancer so there is a lot to observe and learn."
The audition for the show began recently in Delhi.
