Irene Francus Chini, who resides in Jungpura, was on way home from IGI Airport in a taxi when she met with the accident at the crossing between Race Course Road and Safdarjung Road, a senior police official said.
The car hit her taxi from behind and Chini, who was sitting in the back seat, suffered injuries.
Police rushed her to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where doctors said her condition was stable.
The car driver was arrested and a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against him.
