The 25-member team of the mountain warfare-trained border guarding force was flagged off for the task on May 5 from here and the summit was made yesterday.
Led by team commander R S Sonal, five Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force personnel and a sherpa porter tasted success, out of the total 25 members in the team, an ITBP spokesperson said.
"The other members will attempt the summit in a day or two," he said.
Mt Mukut East is located in the Mana valley in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district.
The force was raised in 1962 in the aftermath of the Chinese aggression.
