Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) deputy inspector general R K Sah today exhorted the personnel of the force to shoulder responsibility to protect the country's external and internal security.
"Our neighbour is trying to destabilize our peace and we should guard our border with strict vigil and dedication," Sah said here while addressing 90 trainees during the passing out parade and attestation ceremony at Recruit Training Centre (RTC) of the ITBP.
He said, ITBP was playing a significant role for defending the external and internal national security in any adverse condition and the tasks assigned to the force by the Centre were being performed with dedication.
Referring to the recent deluge at Uttarakhand, the DIG said that ITBP Himveers rescued thousands and saved precious life without caring for their own casualties in the process.
"The training imparted to the troops is the only way to perform well in the profession," he added.
Earlier, the DIG administered the professional oath to the passing out trainees who were imparted 24 weeks basic training in the RTC on firing, physical training, weapon and drill.
While Constable Ramesh Kumar was adjudged as the overall best trainee, Sunil Kumar was the best trainee in firing, Gurpit Singh (Physical), Ravi Dutt (Weapon) and Preveen Kumar as the best trainee in drill.
