National Conference working president Omar Abdullah today alleged that the Jammu and Kashmir government was "being run" from the RSS headquarters in Nagpur saying Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti gets "day-to-day instructions" from the right wing organisation.
"Today, the state's remote control is in Nagpur and Mehbooba Mufti gets her day-to-day directions from the RSS headquarters," Omar told election rallies in Anantnag Assembly segment which is slated to go to by-poll on June 22.
Mehbooba is the PDP candidate from Anantnag.
The former Chief Minister termed the by-poll a battle between the "ideology of Kashmir" and the "ideology of Nagpur".
Omar said Mehbooba was at the forefront of PDP's "shocking betrayal" with the people of Kashmir, asking her to recall her rhetoric and slogans as an opposition leader.
He said it was Mehbooba who had scripted the PDP-BJP alliance in the state and who had also taken part in the first formal meeting between PDP and BJP leaders in New Delhi.
"We still remember her election speeches about how important it was to vote for PDP to keep BJP out of J&K," Omar said, accusing Mehbooba of abandoning her promises to "hang on to power".
"Today, the greatest irony is that she heads the PDP-BJP alliance in J&K," he said.
