"The government is likely to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TISS as consultant for preparation of a comprehensive disaster management plan for the state," the spokesman said after a high level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary M I Khandey here.
The meeting was convened to take stock of measures being implemented to face exigencies on account of natural calamities like earthquakes, floods, snow storms and cloud bursts, the spokesman said.
"The consultant will also prepare an interim report on implementation of emergency procedures for dealing with different scales of emergencies and disasters in the state," he said.
The consultant would also facilitate and conduct different workshops and community participation exercises to promote culture of preparedness and efficient response, relief and recovery across the state, he added.
