"In a landmark decision that shall have a bearing on the process of future recruitments in the State, the J-K government today decided to engage reputed placement firms to make recruitments in the police department at non-gazetted level to fill nearly 4,000 posts lying vacant at various levels" an official spokesperson said.
He said that the government will hire the "most reputed" placement firms with proven track-record to recruit the best available talent in a fair and transparent manner.
"The state government is also mulling to adopt similar mechanism for recruitments in the Fire and Emergency Services Department" he said.
The decision comes a day after the state government introduced a new contractual recruitment policy for appointment against gazetted and non-gazetted vacancies.
