J-K govt to provide free healthcare to Amarnath Yatris

The Jammu and Kashmir government will provide round-the-clock free healthcare facilities to Amarnath pilgrims, state health minister Choudhary Lal Singh said today.
Lal, during a meeting with health department officials, directed them to gear up for providing round-the-clock free healthcare facilities to Amarnath pilgrims all along the Yatra routes.
He also directed them to make healthcare facilities available right from Lakhanpur and along the twin routes (Baltal and Pahalgam) to the cave shrine in Anantnag district of Kashmir division.
Singh directed the officers to deploy adequate medical and paramedical staff and make proper arrangements for medicine and equipment at the medical aid camp.

He instructed them to ensure that such camps are operational from July 2, the day when the annual Yatra commences.
The minister directed for arranging medical aid camps at base camps at Kathua, Jammu and Anantnag districts and also near the cave shrine.
Ambulance services must be made available within the 20 km distance of a medical aid camp, he said.
