J&K Guv's Advisor stresses on prioritising issues

Soon after assuming office, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, Advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Governor, has asked officers to prioritise various issues related to their respective departments concerning public delivery so that they can be settled in a time-bound manner.
Ganai and Pervez Dewan were appointed as Advisors by Governor N N Vohra yesterday.
While interacting with the Secretary Rural Development Department (RDD), Ganai issued directions for prioritising sectors which need special attention, so that the benefit of various flagship schemes reaches the targeted populace and they are also fast-paced.
Ganai, while interacting with the Social Welfare Department Secretary, discussed various issues related to the department and also the necessary amendments to be made in the Disabilities Act.
The Advisor also discussed issues related to the specially-abled persons which include appointment of a full- time Disability Commissioner, state trust for welfare of persons with autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation and Multiple Disabilities Act.
The provision of providing assistive aid for these persons, including the provision of scooters in place of tricycles and establishment of CRC at Jammu was also discussed.
The provision of setting up schools for specially-abled children and providing medical aid, treatment in government hospitals and private nursing homes besides providing employment to specially-abled persons in rural areas was also discussed.
