The Jharkhand government today approved a proposal to create 6,148 more posts in the ranks of inspector, sub-inspector and assistant sub-inspector in the state.

Chaired by Chief Minister Raghubar Das, the cabinet also decided to upgrade police outposts into police stations and notify crime investigation department and anti-terrorist squad as police stations to make them more effective, an official release said here.

In another decision, the cabinet approved the transfer of Jharkhand State Labour Welfare Society, formed to implement National Health Insurance Scheme, from the Labour, Employment, Training and Skill Development department to the Health and Family Welfare department.

It approved the proposed amendment in setting up of a health college in private sector, the release said.

The government decided transfer of 16.35 acres of land in Patratu circle of the Ramgarh district to Indian Railways to develop a new broad gauge rail line between Koderma and Ranchi via Hazaribagh-Barkakana.

It approved 0.4724 acres of land in Sariya circle of Giridih district for another rail project.

The cabinet also gave its nod to transfer of a total 1.537 acres of land in Sahibganj district for development of sewerage pumping station under National Ganga River Basin Authority Scheme, to the Urban Development and Housing department, the release said.
