Jagadeeshan said: "I trained very hard for this marathon. I was determined to participate and I knew I would do well. Winning the Spirit of Chennai run is very very special for me and I shall cherish this marathon. It was very well organised."
Shilja Sridhar added: "I am from Delhi and I am delighted to have won in Chennai. I have been running for the last three years and have taken part in the Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad marathons. I am eagerly awaiting the Boston marathon this year and have been concentrating on my practice sessions that includes 3 runs a week, cycling once or twice a week and yoga.
