Pairas Oraon, who was appointed on contractual basis by the jail authority, was arrested after a FIR was registered against him, said Superintendent of Police, Kishore Kaushal.
Acting on a tip off that Oraon has been delivering letters of the Patratu-based gangster Aman Sahu, Kaushal said a raid was conducted and Oraon arrested.
A letter of Sahu was also recovered from the possession of Oraon, the SP added.
