Senior BJP leader and party candidate from Amritsar Lok Sabha seat Arun Jaitley expressed hope that healthy voter turnout in the non-BJP ruled states which were among those to go to polls today would go in favour of the saffron party.
He said that healthy turnout today in the Lok Sabha polls for Delhi, Haryana, parts of UP and Kerala, indicated that people wanted a change of government.
Healthy turnout showed that people wanted change and anti-incumbency factor was at work, Jaitley said.
He said that heavy polling in these states indicates that people were eager for a change and it would help NDA to form next government at the Centre under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
He said in Chandigarh too, where poll percentage remained high, the party is expecting poll results to favour BJP.
"After poll results, BJP is confident of attaining comfortable majority for NDA to form Government," he said.
Talking about his rival Congress candidate from Amritsar Amarinder Singh, Jaitley, who is contesting his maiden Lok Sabha polls, alleged that the former chief minister's vision for logical debate is missing as most of the time he talks on "non-existent issues".
