Jamaat-i-Islami shot dead in Pakistan

A local leader of an Islamist party was shot dead by unidentified gunmen today in northwestern Pakistan, police said.
Jamaat-i-Islami local leader Malik Tufail was killed when unknown armed men on a motorcycle opened fire at him in Bannu's Mughalkhel area in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, Dawn reported, citing police officials.
The suspects escaped from the site after the incident.
Police began search operations in the area in order to arrest the culprits.
A case was registered against unknown suspects.
