Jammu AoC briefs J&K Governor

Air Officer Commanding (AoC), Jammu, Air Commodore Ashutosh Lal, called on state Governor N N Vohra here at the Raj Bhavan today and briefed him about various matters relating to the roles played by IAF in the state.
The Governor lauded IAF's prompt and valuable support on various occasions, particularly the assistance provided for the conduct of recent state Assembly elections and, also for the rescue, relief and evacuation operations during the September 2014 floods, a Raj Bhawan spokesman said.
At the Governor's request, the AoC undertook to advise and assist the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in reviewing the Disaster Management Plan drawn up by Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board Dr M K Bhandari, and also to assess the capacity of the new Panchhi Helipad established by the Board for MI-17 operations for disaster evacuations.
