Jammu High Court lawyers today abstained from judicial work and staged a protest against Pakistan following the terror attack on an Army camp here on Saturday.
The strike was called by the Jammu Bar Association (JBA).
The JBA also took out a procession in the court's premises and shouted slogans against Pakistan and anti- national forces responsible for the attack, an association spokesman said.
On Saturday, a group of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists struck an Army camp at Sunjuwan along Jammu-Pathankote bypass, killing five soldiers and a civilian besides leaving 10 others including six women and children injured.
Three terrorists were also killed in the retaliatory action by the Army.
The spokesman said that the association would continue its protesttomorrowas well.
"We strongly condemn Pakistan for carrying on the policy of enmity against India and harbouring terrorists on its soil and using them to threaten life of the people and security forces in the state," JBA president B S Slathia said.
Slathia accused the state government of its "failure" in saving the lives and liberty of the people and security forces in the state.
He said the attack on the Army camp was not possible without the support of some sleeper cells.
"The government has facilitated such elements to make their foot hold in Jammu and it is sure to pose a serious threat to the security of people in the future also," Slathia said.
The JBA president condemned the role of National Conference legislator Mohammad Akbar Lone for raising pro- Pakistan slogans inside the assemblyon Saturday.
