Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul was conveyed about the development by the SSU administration today, a spokesperson of the board said.
He said the affiliation will help the institute run post graduate (Acharya) courses.
The spokesperson added that Governor N N Vohra, who is also chairman of the board, had been pursuing the matter with the Vice Chancellor and Chancellor of SSU.
Founded in 2010, the institute imparts Vedic education besides teaching traditional subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Computer Sciences and Music, he said.
The institute is planning to hire trained professionals in the coming years to ensure quality education for its students.
