Three persons, two of them policemen, suffered burn injuries Monday when an electricity transformer installed outside a private hotel exploded along canal road here, police said.
Constables Kuldeep Kumar and Raj Kumar were on duty when the electricity transformer developed some technical snag and exploded apparently due to overheating, a police official said.
He said the police personnel and a civilian guard of the hotel suffered burn injuries in the incident and were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) hospital for treatment.
The condition of all the three injured was stated to be stable, the official said, adding that a case has been registered in this connection and further investigation is on.
