The film which has already started shooting in the UK, features Bloom, 38, as a man still trying to come to terms with repercussions of childhood sexual abuse by an idolised priest, reported Variety.
Shamassian Brothers will be directing the film from the screenplay penned by Geoff Thompson.
"Romans" is produced by WSG Entertainment's Sheetal Vinod Talwar as well as James Harris and Mark Lane of The Tea Shop & Film Company and Jasper Graham of Dreamscape Films.
