Welcoming the order, Javadekar said Supreme Court has today given a decision about Madhya Pradesh and tomorrow they are going to give a decision about Maharashtra and other states.
"I believe the whole concept of NEET is giving admissions on merit. Nobody need to pay more than the fees and that is the basic concept of merit in admissions. And as a government we are always trying that they get it on the basis of their merit and not money power. Therefore, I welcome today's decision. But let the whole process be completed," he said adding that the courts are likely to hear related cases tomorrow.
It said two representatives of private medical colleges would participate in the counselling process to be conducted by the state government.
The order came on a recent contempt petition filed by the Madhya Pradesh government alleging that private medical colleges have been refusing to admit students, who have taken part in the centralised counselling being conducted by it.
The state government, while seeking initiation of contempt action against private medical colleges, alleged that they were conducting the counselling on their own.
