Neuro surgeons operated on soldier Pawan Kumar today and removed a bullet from his spine.
Dr M C Mishra, chief of the trauma centre, said that the patient is on ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit and is recovering.
A bullet had pierced his chest and broken his spinal cord resulting in paralysis in his legs, he said.
Kumar hails from Jammu region and was flown in on a special plane of the BSF.
He was injured in sniper fire from the Pakistani side on August 11 at the Alfa Machial Border Out Post area in Jammu.
