Jaya announces compensation to flash flood victims
extends sympathies, relief to be paid from the Chief Minister's General Relief fund
Press Trust of India Chennai Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today expressed grief over the death of seven persons killed in flash floods at Virudhunagar district last week, and announced a compensation of Rs one lakh each to the families of the victims.
"I extend my deep sympathies and condolences to those who were killed in the floods," she said in a statement here.
The relief will be paid from the Chief Minister's General Relief fund, she added.
