"The government has failed to provide compensation to affected traders of Kishtwar whose business establishments were damaged in the violence. If the government failed to provide them compensation as per their actual losses at the earliest, we will go for agitation and even call a bandh across Jammu region," JCCI president Y V Sharma told reporters here.
He said traders will not accept two to five lakhs rupees of compensation which was decided by the government, as their original losses are in several lakhs of rupees.
Meanwhile, Jammu Province Peoples Front (JPPF) today called for the transfer of DIG, Ashkoor Wani and Dy SP headquarter, Farooq Qaser and alleged they are influencing the Special Investigating Team (SIT) probe into Kishtwar violence.
They also called for confidence building measures to revive communal harmony in the district, besides release of compensation of Rs 3.5 crore for the affected traders.
