"We have requested RJD chief Lalu Prasad to either silence him (Raghuvansh Prasad Singh) or take action including expelling him from the party for making adverse statement against the chief minister as his comment could have adverse impact on the Grand Alliance," Bihar JD(U) chief spokesman and MLC Sanjay Kumar Singh, told PTI.
RJD's national vice-president and former union minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh had yesterday fired a salvo at the Bihar CM by reportedly saying that Kumar has been with the BJP for 17 years and could go back to NDA as indicated by his support for demonetisation.
"Is it right to say anything against the man (Nitish Kumar) who has been working day and night for the development of the state? His statement on Kumar is creating rift in the alliance," the JD(U) spokesman said.
Raghuvansh has been vocal against Kumar ever since he supported demonetisation and had also suggested that the chief minister should not have supported scrapping of notes as it could create doubts among the people whether everything was fine in the Grand Alliance.
"The person who supported demonetisation and Narendra Modi is considered good for Grand Alliance while those opposing demonetisation should be expelled from the party. What is the logic behind it ?" he said in a strong retort to JD(U) attack at him.
"It is Nitish Kumar at whose behest leaders of his party are using unparliamentary language against me," he said and added "I can reply to any substantial issue but cannot reply to the abusive language."
JD(U) had in May this year too demanded action against Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and RJD Araria MP Mohammad Taslimuddin for their comments over law and order situation in the state.
