The 21-year-old is in talks to appear in The Weinstein Company's film as American socialite Lydie Marland who caused controversy when she married her adopted father, oil baron EW Marland.
Lawrence is the top choice for the role which sees Marland's relationship with her father ultimately destroy the empire they built together, reported Aceshowbiz.
Written by "Argo" scribe Chris Terrio and Todd Black, the film is produced by Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch. There is no news as yet about who will play her 54-year-old husband.
Lawrence is currently busy filming sequels to popular movie franchises 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' and 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'.
