Jessalyn Gilsig to replace Joelle Carter in 'Scandal'

"Glee" actress Jessalyn Gilsig has been cast for the upcoming sixth season of "Scandal", replacing Joelle Carter.
Carter played Vanessa, Jake Ballard's wife on the ABC series. She is exiting the Shonda Rhimes-created series because of her commitment to NBC's "Chicago Justice", a new "Chicago Fire" spin-off, on which she is a series regular.
"Scandal" season six is bumped to midseason to accommodate leading lady Kerry Washington's pregnancy.
Rhimes recently denied that the sixth season would be the last for the show.
