The JIMWS rescue team swung into action after receiving an information that three persons have been stuck on a land strip in the middle of a river at Vaishav Panipora village, 70 kms from here, last evening, the spokesman said.
He said the team under guidance of Principal JIMWS Colonel Virinder Singh rescued the trio after tremendous and exhaustive effort lasting over two hours.
Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Mir Jehangir, Commanding officer of nine-Rashtriya Rifles Colonel P S Jamwal, Superintendent of Police, Kulgam and Mohammad Shafi Mir witnessed the rescue work and appreciated the JIMWS for the successful rescue operation, the spokesman said.
