"Total loss of production was of the order of about 700 tonnes. The production and dispatch are getting normalised from today," JK Tyre & Industries said in a statement.
There is no damage to the plant and machinery. However, partial damage has been caused to compound wall, internal roads and fencing, it added.
The damages caused by natural calamity are adequately covered under the insurance policy of the company, it said.
The company's plants located in other parts of the country are operating normally.
Due to the rains, the company had in November lost production of 4,000 motorcycles.
Other automobile firms, including Hyundai, Ford, Renault and tyre maker Apollo Tyres have also suspended operations at their respective plants in and around the city due to flooding caused by the heaviest rainfall in Chennai in over a century.
