"I appeal to the state government to increase the old age pension of these poor women and widows to at least Rs 1,000 per month," Chairman JKDF Anil Gupta told reporters here.
"Rs 200 per month as pensions fails to meet their daily demands, therefore we have asked the state government to increase the amount," he said.
He held the Jammu and Kashmir government responsible for the "snail pace" disposal of cases related to old age pension to women under Social Welfare Scheme.
There are around 14,500 cases related to the old age pension pending with the Social Welfare Department, Gupta said.
