Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today termed the killing of six civilians in shelling by Pakistan along the Line of Control as "deplorable" and accused the Centre of failing to ensure safety of people living on the border areas of the state.
"Continuous shelling from across the border is highly shameful and deplorable act. The killings of civilians are most unfortunate and unacceptable. Every time innocent civilians living on the borders have to brave the brunt of shelling from across the border," JKPCC president G A Mir said here.
Mir accused the Centre of failing to ensure safety of the people living on the border areas in the state.
"There is a need for long-term measures to be taken at the earliest to ensure the safety of people living on the borders.
The Centre must show some seriousness about safety of the people living on the borders," he said.
