Led by JKPYC state President Shahnawaz Choudhary, over 300 activists of Youth Congress raised anti PDP-BJP government and anti-Modi slogans in Press club area here against the release of the separatist leader by the PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir.
The protesters questioned the BJP's silence over the release of the separatist leader, who spearheaded 2008 and 2010 stone-pelting agitations in the Valley that left over 120 people dead.
Amid demonstrations, PYC workers blamed the double standard of the BJP on J-K issues, saying that it has betrayed the people of the state by giving support to the PDP.
They also condemned the "anti-national" statements of Mufti Sayeed in presence of the Prime Minister and also condemned the alleged silence of Modi on the matter.
Speaking to mediapersons, Choudhary said BJP has formed the coalition government with the PDP and is silent on every action of the PDP.
"The Congress will never tolerate his release. If such anti-national, pro-Pakistan leaders are released, Youth Congress will continue its protest till the Prime Minister does not give a satisfactory reply on the matter," he said.
