"A vigorous week-long campaign was launched across Jammu and Kashmir on August 12 to create awareness among the youth about various social evils especially drug abuse," a spokesman for the Jammu and Kashmir State Aids Prevention & Control Society (JKSACS) said.
He said special functions were held across the state to involve youth in an "innovative, artistic and creative way".
The launch of the programme was planned on the International Youth Day to motivate them to be "ambassadors of the society".
He said JKSACS used the opportunity to motivate youth to participate in healthy sports activities and disseminate the message against drug abuse and steps to prevent AIDS and other diseases.
He said JKSACS also participated in the valedictory function of induction training of doctors and Lab Technicians of the various blood banksat Government Medical College here.
