The workshop titled "Earthquakes and Landslides: Addressing Administrative and Technological Challenges in Building Community Resilience" is being organised by JNU in association with Manipur University and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
"The initiative seeks to create community partnerships to be realised in association with administrators (State disaster management authority, representatives from Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura), civil society organisations, academicians, experts, to discover spaces for differently abled, old and other vulnerable communities, also providing a platform for the women to come up with indigenous ideas in protecting their neighbourhood in crisis," Bhupinder Zutshi, Co-cordinator of the conference said.
The workshop was inaugurated today in Imphal by Manipur Labour Minister Hemo Chandra Singh and Lok Sabha MP Thokchom Meinya Singh.
