In Haryana, jobs are being provided on the basis of merit only and the state government has taken steps to put an end to corruption, nepotism and regional bias, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said today.
Interacting with the youth at 'Connect2CM' programme in Kurukshetra, he said, "I believe that those who have been elected for five years should not burden the society for 30 to 35 years by recruiting wrong persons in government jobs."
Asking the youth to work for the progress of the state and the country and at the same time achieve personal success, Khattar said his government is preparing several schemes for their welfare.
Several draft plans have been prepared for education, arts and skill development, the benefits of which would soon reach people, he said.
Apart from this, efforts are being made to improve the level of education by re-introducing Board examinations, conducting monthly assessment of learning levels of students, imparting training to teachers and opening colleges for girls every 20 km.
The state government has implemented Saksham Scheme, under which unemployed graduates and post-graduates are provided honorarium of Rs 7,500 and Rs 9,000 per month in lieu of 100 hours of work, the Chief Minister said.
The ambit of the scheme has been widened to make provision for honorarium of Rs 7,500 for graduates in Science and Mathematics, for which eligible youths may apply by May 31.
Skill Development University is being established in Palwal district to impart industry-friendly training to the youth. Efforts are also being made to generate employment opportunities by encouraging investment in the private sector, Khattar said.
