John Boyega didn't agree with many choices made in 'The Last Jedi'

Actor John Boyega has admitted he was not completely on board with some of the creative decisions made by Rian Johnson during the making on 2017's "Star Wars: The Last Jedi".

"The Last Jedi", a follow-up to 2015's "The Force Awakens", had received criticism from fans for killing a key character of the long-running franchise, along with its story.

Mark Hamill had also seemingly criticised the movie and the director regarding the treatment of his iconic character Luke Skywalker.

Boyega, who portrays Finn in the popular sci-fi franchise, said he himself was unsatisfied with some of the plot points of "The Last Jedi", including separating the three central characters of Finn, Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Poe (Oscar Isaac).

"'The Force Awakens', I think, was the beginning of something quite solid. 'The Last Jedi', if I'm being honest, I'd say that was feeling a bit iffy for me," Boyega told HypeBeast.

"I didn't necessarily agree with a lot of the choices in that and that's something that I spoke to Mark a lot about, and we had conversations about it. And it was hard for all of us, because we were separated," he added.

Boyega said the separation of Finn, Rey and Poe threw off the new trilogy's momentum.

"I guess the original 'Star Wars' films there was much more of a trio feel where it was essentially about Luke's journey, but Han and Leia there was a strong dynamic, which I think, I don't know how quickly we're going to be able to establish that long-term dynamic with Nine. But if it's exploring that dynamic, then that would be cool," the actor said.

Boyega is currently gearing up for the release of franchise's latest entry, "The Rise of Skywalker", which hits the theatres worldwide on December 20.
