The drama by Carlton Cuse is based on Tom Clancy's famed CIA character and Cuse wanted Krasinski since he developed the project, according to Variety.
Cuse and "Lost" alum Graham Roland are shepherding the Jack Ryan adaptation. Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes, Paramount TV and Skydance TV are producing.
The project reunites Krasinski with Bay, who directed the drama "13 Hours".
The Jack Ryan series landed at Amazon with a series commitment and is yet to be greenlit but Krasinski's casting will expediate the process.
