The jury in Huntsville has sought to watch the video of the assault, that left Sureshbhai Patel, 58, partially paralysed, during the re-trial of Eric Parker, the cop charged with use of excessive force.
The first trial ended in a mistrial.
Parker, who has now been fired by the Huntsville Police, is facing up to 10 years of imprisonment if convicted.
He faces a single charge of deprivation of rights under colour of law for the sidewalk takedown on February 6 that left Patel in need of spinal surgery.
It is in this video that Parker is seen hitting Patel, following which the Indian man fell on the ground.
Patel, who was visiting his son in Alabama to meet his new-born grandson, was slammed to ground and left paralysed in 101 seconds after encountering the police despite him pleading as many as five times that he knows no English, federal prosecutors have said.
Patel is still undergoing treatment.
Parker's re-trial has 14 members in the jury, of which 11 are women and three men.
