According to a notification issued by the Law Ministry today, she has been asked to assume her new charge on or before August 8.
The recommendation of the Supreme Court collegium to transfer her from the Calcutta High Court was cleared by the government last week and was awaiting the nod from the President.
After Justice Banerjee joins her new assignment, the strength of the Delhi High Court will go up to 36. The high court has an approved strength of 60.
The government also issued a separate order transferring Justice Shantanagoudar Mohan Mallikarjunagouda from the Karnataka High Court to the Kerala High Court. He has been asked to assume his new charge on or before August 8.
