During his eventful year the 20-year-old singer generated the most posts of any musician on Twitter, reported Billboard magazine.
Bieber beat One Direction star Niall Horan to the top spot but he finished higher than his bandmates Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson who came third, fourth and ninth respectively.
The report was compiled by Twitter and other entrants include Ariana Grande in fifth spot, Demi Lovato in sixth place and Taylor Swift in tenth.
As well as revealing the most tweeted about musician, the statistics also revealed other notable achievements of pop stars on Twitter.
Bieber got over 11 million followers, Swift added 10 million to her profile, while 1D only added 5.5 million fans to their feed.
