K N Tripathi to assume charge of Governor of Bengal on July 24

Former Uttar Pradesh Speaker Keshari Nath Tripathi will take over as Governor of West Bengal on July 24, state government sources said here today.
Tripathi would replace M K Narayanan who resigned after being nudged to do so by the NDA government at the Centre.
Tripathi, who will turn 80 in November this year, was a five-time MLA.
He has written a few books including a commentary on "The Representation of the People Act, 1951" and two books of poetry in Hindi - 'Manonukriti', 'Aayu Pankh'.
Bihar Governor D Y Patil took over as Governor of West Bengal as additional charge after Narayanan demitted office on July 4.
