Manav Gangwani has "Queen" star Kangana Ranaut as his showstopper and the designer says the Bollywood actress is the perfect muse for his French-inspired couture collection.
"The collection this time is French collection, called "Le'amoureuse" (the beloved) and who else is better than Kangana to wear the final outfit. She is a dear friend and is perfect as my muse. I have worked with her in the past, she is a very versatile person and the collection is also very versatile," Manav told PTI
The designer, who will be showcasing his collection on the last day of the upcoming Amazon India Couture Week 2015, said the variety which Kangana has shown in her on-screen characters truly represents his creations.
"From 'Queen' to 'Tanu weds Manu Returns', these movies are to die for. Just in one movie she has shown a change from Kanpur girl to a Haryanvi girl, there is a beautiful contrast and that is what my brand stands for, we know how to offer suitable collections for different type of audience."
The celebrity favourite designer said his collection this time is a departure from his signature style.
"Everything is very French in the collection. It is quite a transition from what I normally do. I wanted to give a different feel. I think every designer should evolve and not keep showing the same thing again and again in a different colour," he said.
Dominated by the subtle and mysterious gunmetal grey, fresh peachy coral, ethereal aqua and a dark yet sensual purple, Manav Gangawani Couture collection will celebrate the sensuality of a woman.
"In couture, I do red carpet, I do evening wear, bridal and high-end day wear. The segment which I will be showcasing, will be more of red carpet, formal evening wear, formal day wear and people will see a different signature style of mine," the designer said.
Amazon India Couture Week 2015, is geared up to see a lot of celebrity showstoppers this time, but for Manav there will be only two queens ruling the ramp this year.
"For me this couture week has two queens. One is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has been the queen and is celebrating her 25 years with Manish Malhotra and the other is the reigning queen of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut, who is gracing the ramp for me," he said.
Apart from a lavish set with romantic French tracks in the background, the designer also promises the presence of celebrities in the front row.
"There will be a lot of support flying from Mumbai as well. Raveena, Sophie and maestro Amjad Ali Khan are coming. I make sure that all the people who love me are in the front row to give their support, as it is not possible bring all of them on the ramp at the same time," Manav said.
