Karuna urges voters to take right decision

Hitting out at Narendra Modi, DMK chief M Karunanidhi today appealed the people to understand as to what type of government the country would have if there is a rule by Modi and asked them to take a right decision in the polls that would be of help not only for the present generation but also for their posterity.
The Democratic Progressive Alliance (DMK-led front) was of the firm stand that there was no room for communalism. "We consider that all religions are equal," Karunanidhi said, launching the DPA's campaign for the April 24 Lok Sabha polls for the lone seat here.

Addressing an election rally to seek support for the DMK nominee A M H Nazeem, MLA, he referred to the BJP's prime ministerial candidate acknowledging his marriage to Jashodaben for the first time in his affidavit.
There was no need to hide the fact, he said and also wondered what more facts would roll out in case Modi became Prime Minister.
He wanted to know whether this (declaration by Modi of being married) was akin to 'Modi Viddhai' (magic) and urged people to understand as to what type of government the country would have if there should be a rule by Modi.

He said what happened at Babri Masjid should not recur in other parts and asked the electorate to take a decision that would be necessary and appropriate not only for the present generation but also for their posterity.

Addressing an election rally to seek support for the DMK nominee A M H Nazeem, MLA, he reiterated that voters should weigh carefully as to who should come to power.
"This is the time to decide which type of administration the country should have. One should be wary of taking the decision as to whether there should be a secular administration that shows no discrimination on the basis of religion or castes or the one that encourages communal divisions," he said.

Earlier, addressing an election meeting at Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu, he said elected DMK MPs would give "total support" for forming a secular government.
He slammed chief minister Jayalalithaa for not solving the power crisis in three months after assuming power as promised by her prior to the 2011 assembly polls.
Karunanidhi also flayed her on the Lankan Tamils issue, saying she has not taken steps for an all party meeting on the matter.
