"The race will be staged on September 28. It will be an annual event to be staged on the last Sunday of September every year. Runners from all over the world will participate in it," Hemant Dua of Inspiranti Sports, the organisers of the half-marathon, told reporters said here.
Dua said there would be three race categories - half-marathon of 21.097 km, family fun run of 7 km and kids dash of 2.5 km.
Dua said to attract youngsters from the state, a university challenge has been instituted.
"A special scholarship is also being instituted for two talented boys and girls from the state to ensure best training, nutrition and exposure to them. Clinics will be organised in colleges and universities," he said.
He said such initiatives would help encourage a sporting culture in the region.
