Kashyap no more faces threat of arrest in tax evasion case:

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap today filed an anticipatory bail application in a sessions court here in connection with a service tax evasion case against him.
However, when it came up for hearing, Kashyap's lawyer said he wanted to withdraw it, as his client no longer faced the threat of arrest from the Service Tax Department.
Following which, the court allowed the withdrawal.
Tax officials have alleged that Kashyap evaded payment of Rs 55 lakh service tax. Officials visited his office last month for investigation and he was sent summons to appear on August 22.
Because he failed to appear, his bank accounts were frozen.

Later, he sought more time to appear before the department.
