: A fisherman, who got injured while taking part in the rescue operations in flood-hit Kerala, was in for a big surprise when state Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today called him up and enquired about his health.
Ratna Kumar is presently undergoing treatment at Amrita Hospital in Kochi for the injuries suffered during the rescue mission in one of the worst-affected Pandanad region in Pathnamthitta district.
Later, the Chief Minister tweeted that the state government would extend all possible assistance to Kumar.
Several fishermen had joined in the rescue operations in the worst flood the state had witnessed in the last 100 years.
The flood and rains have so far claimed 293 lives since August 8.
