The 37-year-old actress woke up around 3 am on December 4 at her Brooklyn Heights rental home after hearing some noises upstairs, reported New York Daily News.
She got up and went upstairs to check, only to find that the front door and living room windows were wide open.
The burglars Ronald Swindell, 50, and his nephew Steffon, allegedly took a laptop, a necklace, a pair of earrings and a Filson handbag.
They were later arrested for alleged burglary in another house several blocks away from Russell's.
According to a source at the law enforcement office, Swindell has been arrested for more than 20 times for burglary and other crimes. He was just released on November 22 after serving 5 years in prison for burglary.
"Everyone is fine, and Keri sends her thanks to the police. She returned to work on 'The Americans' today," said a representative for the actress.
It was unclear where Russell's husband, Shane Deary, and their children, 23-month-old Willa Lou and 6-year-old River, were at the time. The family is renting the house while their Boerum Hill brownstone is under renovation.
