Kevin Bacon thanks loyal fans of 'The Following'

Actor Kevin Bacon has hailed the devoted fanbase of "The Following" and the "heroic crew" in the wake of the show's cancellation.
Fox axed the crime drama earlier this week, and season three's two-hour special on May 18 will now be the series finale, reported Digital Spy.
Bacon, who stars as FBI agent Ryan Hardy in Kevin Williamson's drama, said that it had been "an honour" to work for the show's loyal fans, adding that he hopes they enjoy the closing episodes of the show.
"Thanks to our heroic crew. I miss you already," he continued. "Thanks to @kevwilliamson for creating RH. Thanks to all the great writers and producers. And my champion @MSiega," Bacon tweeted.

He went on to thank co-stars James Purefoy, Shawn Ashmore, Jessica Stroup, Sam Underwood, Valerie Cruz, Valorie Curry, John Lafayette and Diane Neal "to name a few", adding the hashtag #thebest.
Bacon also took the time to congratulate "The Following" co-executive producer and co-showrunner Alexi Hawley, who is joining ABC's Castle in the same role for its eighth season.
