Michael Shannon will play rock 'n' roll king Elvis Presley in the drama, which describes the historical meeting that the musician and the president had in 1970.
Written by actor Cary Elwes with Hanala and Joey Sagal, the film is being directed by Liza Johnson, reported Deadline.
Presley, who was at the height of his stardom, visited White House on December 21, 1970 to speak with the president.
Nixon received him in the Oval Office, where they discussed Presley's views on drug use and hippies. Presley wanted to be sworn in as an undercover federal agent and left behind his gifted Colt .45 for the president.
